In painting an allegorical gesture reveals captive experiences of solemn spaces, silently inviting the conscious-subconscious to explore realities and create possibilities. In “La Mujer del Morro” (an image I grew up seeing as a child) I’ve reimagined the main character as a mythological figure using references of ancient Iliad’s to create an aesthetic and invented amalgam of reality into alternative representations where colors and abstraction merge confections of gestures in ecstatic and mimetic actions through idylls of creation that manages its own meaning.
